This seems to me quite an “urban legend”.
I mean, “adult males” is pretty generic.
And how in heaven’s name have scientists measured this frequency?

oday 24 years ago, the crew of the Discovery space shuttle placed the Hubble Space Telescope into a low orbit around the Earth.
This incredible piece of equipment had been conceived as early as the 1940s, was designed in the 70s, built in the 80s and finally put into orbit in the 90s.

very single one of us has obsessions. There’s no denying. The Merriam-Webster online dictionary defines it as:
Main Entry: ob·ses·sion
Pronunciation: äb-‘se-shæ
Function: noun.
“A persistent disturbing preoccupation with an often unreasonable idea or feeling”.
Broadly: Compelling motivation.
“Something that causes an obsession”.
This last one is not very explicative, but that’s what the dictionary says about it.
